The Legendary Bollywood Actor Irrfan Khan Dies
By In an unfortunate incident, Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last in Mumbai on Wednesday. The actor had been admitted to Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for the treatment of colon infection. The actor’s spokesperson broke the news on the behalf of Irrfan Khan’s family.
Earlier, the spokesperson also told the media that Irrfan Khan was shifted to the ICU on Tuesday. The statement the released read: “Yes it is true that Irrfan khan is admitted to ICU at Kokilaben in Mumbai because of a colon infection. We would keep everyone updated. He is under doctor’s observation. His strength and courage have helped him battle and fight so far and we are sure with his tremendous willpower and prayers of all his well wishers, he will recover soon.”
In 2018, the actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. For the treatment, he went to London for getting the best treatment. He also came to India in 2019 to shoot for Angrezi Medium before finally coming back to India in September after the surgery.
A few days ago, Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeeda Begum also died in Jaipur. However, due to lockdown, Irrfan was not able to attend the final rites. He paid his final respects through video conferencing. Irrfan Khan is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons.
India Mourns
The death of 53-year-old Pikuactor is no less than a big shock to everyone in the country. Many took to twitter to express their sadness on the demise of Irrfan Khan:
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, who directed Irrfan Khan in Piku, tweeted: “My dear friend Irrfan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute,”

Irrfan Khan was last seen in Angrezi Medium, released just a week before lockdown. The actor was acclaimed for his extraordinary performance in Bollywood films like The Lunchbox, Muqbool while he also played roles in Hollywood films like Jurassic World.
