MAT 2020 entrance exam goes online amidst COVID-19
The dawn of coronavirus in the world has turned everything upside down. Be it businesses, daily lives or the future goals of people, everything is staring at a blank future. However, technology is coming out as a great saviour in these tough times.
Recently, All India Management Association (AIMA) that conducts Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for MBA admission in India introduced an online option for MAT 2020.
MAT 2020: The New Option
As per the official website of AIMA, students will get the three options for MAT 2020. Earlier there were only two options – “Paper-based” and “Computer-based”. A third option has been introduced as remote proctored Internet-Based-Test (IBT). This third option is being offered under the supervision of Mercer | Mettl’s platform.
In this option, instead of going to the exam centers, students can take test from their homes. All they need is a computer having a web came and internet facility. Students can take test from anywhere and they will be supervised by invigilators online.
The Mercer | Mettl’s platform is also offering demo and practice tests. These will help students get acquainted with the exam system before taking the final MAT exam. On 25th May 2020, the option was introduced smoothly and it will continue to be so in the upcoming exams.
The AIMA is confident that this system is a great way to conduct entrance exams during the pandemic. The security and credibility of the test is also ensured through internationally tried and tested software. They will monitor the live stream of the students taking exams and notify when there is any unfair practice during the exams.
Notably, if a student had already picked either paper-based or computer-based test, he/she can switch to IBT mode. For that, they just need to visit their application portal and change the preferred mode to IBT.
