On Sunday, a promo was shot by Amitabh Bachchan at his home to launch the show with a tagline – ‘Har cheez ko break lag sakta hai, sapno ko nahi.’ (There can be a break to everything but dreams.)

In the video, Big B is inviting people to register for KBC 12. He also encourages the viewers by saying that while the world has stood still, this does not mean our dreams can stop. For those dreams, KBC has come back.

Here is the full video.

Dangal filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari directed the promo remotely. He talked about the promo and said: “KBC is not just a game/quiz show for people. It’s more than that. It’s an opportunity to realize one’s dreams. One doesn’t stop dreaming given the adversity. In fact, the dreams only become more significant…and that was the trigger for this film.

When Will The Registration Begin?

The registrations will last from May 9 to May 22. Mr. Bachchan will ask a new question every day on Sony Channel at 9 pm. People can send the right answers through the SMS or Sony LIV app.

As per the reports, the whole audition process will be divided into four parts: registration, screening, online audition, and personal interview. Those who give the right answers will be shortlisted through a randomizer and further called for the final assessment.

An online audition will also take place through the Sony LIV app and finally, the selected ones will have to go through a personalised video call. The selected ones will then get the chance to come on stage with Amitabh Bachchan.

Taking to media, Amit Raisinghani, head of business planning and communication, Sony Entertainment Television said: “We are certainly excited to announce the 12th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. And for the first time in the history of KBC, the entire screening and selection will be managed digitally. This is a season of firsts and we are confident that it will redefine the power of knowledge.”

This is the first time that KBC is having the auditions and the selection process completely online. Due to coronavirus pandemic, all kinds of productions have been suspended. This has led to a downfall in fresh content on Indian television.
