UIDAI Makes Important Announcements On Aadhaar Card You Must Know

The authority that manages Aadhaar cards – Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) – announced an important update. They made the announcement on Twitter through series of posts.

The tweet said that UIDAI’s Aadhaar card centers are going to re-start their services in many states. Apart from that, people can now also link their Ration Cards to their Aadhaar cards sitting at their homes.

Below are the details of the announcements made by UIDAI:  

Appointment Bookings

Anyone who wants some kind of change in his/her Aadhaar Card will first have to make an appointment. For this, one can take an appointment at https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/ or via the M-Aadhaar app.

In addition, citizens should also follow social distancing once they are given an appointment.

Only those states or districts where the new guidelines released in Lockdown 4.0 will allow Aadhaar card centers to re-open.

Linking Aadhaar Card to Ration Card

The deadline for linking Aadhaar card to the ration card has been postponed to September 30, 2020. According to the Central Food Ministry, food will be provided to ration card holders even if their ration cards are not attached to their Aadhaar cards.

Now the opening of Aadhaar card centers has already been started in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Tripura, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Daman and Diu.

However, if you are not sure if Aadhaar card centers will be opened in your area, or if you are facing any other issue relating to Aadhaar card, you can personally message your problem to the official Twitter account of UIDAI.

How To Link Your Aadhaar Card To The Ration Card:

  1. First, go to the official website of UIDAI- uidai.gov.in.
  2. Click on the Start Now option there.
  3. Further, fill up your address details along with your district and state’s name.
  4. Among many options, choose ration card benefit.
  5. Fill up your ration Card number, Aadhaar Card number, email address, and mobile number.
  6. The UIDAI will send an OTP to your registered mobile number. Fill up that number in the required box.
  7. Now, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  8. Your form will be verified by the authorities.
  9. Once the verification process is completed, your Aadhaar card will successfully be linked to your ration card.
