The order applies to large gatherings like political rallies, religious and social functions in the state.

Mrityunjay Kumar, the media advisor to the Chief Minister, tweeted about this information:

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathji has given strict instructions to the officers that no crowd of any kind can be gathered by June 30. This decision has been taken with the intention of keeping the corona under control,”

CM Yogi Adityanath had held a meeting with chairpersons of 11 committees made for handling the coronavirus crisis in the state.

The ban has also been announced in the light of the holy month of Ramazan. The CM office said:

“The month of Ramzan has started. In view of the corona infection, all the religious leaders have appealed to stay at home and offer namaz. It should be ensured that there is no program anywhere as it is likely to spread corona infection,”

The government has also urged people to stay at home for prayers instead of gathering in public places.

The decision has come as the centre has also announced the re-opening of shops in residential areas. However, these orders are not applicable to coronavirus hotspots in Uttar Pradesh.

As per news agency ANI, Lucknow District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash has said that there will be no relaxation in lockdown guidelines for the capital city.

Earlier, Yogi Adityanath had claimed that the state is working on a joint coordination strategy under the aegis of PM Narendra Modi. He also stressed on the emphasis of social distancing along with the strengthening of the medical system and supplies in the state.

As per the reports of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are around 1621 COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh with the number of deaths standing at 25. The number of coronavirus cases across the country has surpassed 24000, with 775 deaths due to the virus.
